Plus I’m loving girl/guy duos at the moment, I'm obsessed with The Weepies and listening to Lewis & Leigh a lot… I’d love to see The Shires perform! I think the fact that they’re Brits and making country records is awesome, I’ve definitely got a soft spot for the US and good country music. It’s one of my favourites to perform live too, because it’s got a lot of attitude in it and I love getting the crowd involved to clap along during the breakdown. I’d say Joker and a Thief as it’s the single off my first EP and has such a driving vibe to it, as well as a pretty catchy chorus. It’s just really great to know millions of people could be listening to your music at the same time and enjoying it - that’s the aim really. But once you realise the reality of it, it’s amazing. So surreal, you feel like someone’s hacked into the radio and is making it up just for you. What was your reaction to hearing your music on Radio 2 for the first time? They are all students at university at the moment.

On backing vocals and keyboard, it's Kate Jillings (we were at high school together from year 7), Dae Huyn Lee on drums & percussion (we have been playing together since I started 5 years ago), and Arthur O’Hara, a talented double bass player and the newest member of the band. My influences stem from folk, indie, pop, jazz and country mostly, so each song takes you on a different journey delving into one of those. It’s so exciting playing with my awesome band too though, comprising of double bass, keys, bvs and kit as well as myself on guitar and ukulele. I play guitar mostly but have been composing on piano, ukulele and banjo over the past couple of years. We've played with Ward Thomas a few times and they're lovely people and a fantastic band. Which other performer today would you try and get to the front row for? Medic strikes me as a solid introduction, it's been our most played across the Radio and is a favourite amongst the band, both live and on record. If there’s one song we should listen to of yours first, what should it be and why? None of us saw it coming and it was a testament to the station's determination in supporting new music. Our Radio 2 debut was Siamese Lover and it was a track we recorded back in the early days when we produced our music in a bedroom.
